Bathurst & Centre
Transit connections are transforming Vaughan – with the Bathurst & Centre rapidway project open for service on Sunday, January 5.
The new rapidway along Bathurst and Centre Streets takes riders to where they want to go, whether it’s in the Bathurst and Centre area, the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, the TTC Line 1 Subway, along Highway 7 West to Bruce Street - or any point in between. Riders can seamlessly connect to Richmond Hill Centre Terminal along the segment of rapidway that opened for service in September 2019. New vivastations are now in service along Centre, including Dufferin Street, Taiga Drive and Disera-Promenade Stations, and on Bathurst St. at Atkinson Avenue Station. Construction on this section of rapidway began in 2016.
Raised bike lanes and wider sidewalks with trees and greenery will bring pleasant paces to walk and cycle too. When getting to and from everywhere is this easy, it attracts people to shop, dine, work and live in the Bathurst & Centre area. Growth is already happening and, as it continues, it will bring more choices in places to live, work and shop too.
Additional rapidways planned on Highway 7 west to Highway 50 and east to Bur Oak Drive are dependent on future funding commitments, and are all part of the larger transit network plan.
