Highway 7 West Woodbridge / Vaughan
Transit connections are transforming Vaughan – with the rapidway project on Highway 7 West open for service on Sunday, November 24.
The new rapidway on Highway 7 West extends west from the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, over Highway 400 all the way out to Bruce Street, and opening soon, east to Yonge Street along the existing Centre Street and Bathurst Street Viva route. Construction on this latest section of rapidway began in the fall of 2016.
Raised bike lanes, a multi-use path, and tree-lined sidewalks mean fresh, new places to walk and cycle too. When getting to and from everywhere is this easy, it attracts people to shop, dine, work and live here. Growth is already happening, and it will bring more choices in places to live, more businesses and jobs.
Additional rapidways planned on Highway 7 west to Highway 50 and east to Bur Oak Avenue are dependent on future funding commitments, and are all part of the larger network plan.
