Hwy 7 East concrete sidewalk replacement

Over the next several weeks, crews will be removing and replacing worn and damaged sections of concrete sidewalk along the south and north sides of Highway 7 [between Bayview Avenue and Highway 404]. They are being replaced during the warranty period to ensure quality is maintained in future years. Please see the information below about concrete sidewalk replacement along Highway 7.

Concrete sidewalk replacement on Highway 7 East

Dates: Starting as early as Monday, July 13, for approximately 6 weeks.
Time: Concrete sidewalk closures will be in place 24 hours per day. Work will be completed weekdays from 9:30am to 5:30pm.
Location: South side of Hwy 7 East, from Bayview Ave to Commerce Valley Dr. East and then north side of Hwy 7 from Bayview Ave to East Beaver Creek.

Description:

  • In the second segment of this work, crews will replace sections of concrete sidewalk on the south side of Hwy 7 from Saddlecreek to Pond Drive.
  • During sidewalk replacement work, sidewalks will be closed.
  • Pedestrian detour signs will be in place.
  • The curb lanes will be closed temporarily where work is underway.
  • Bike lanes will remain open, with construction markers guiding cyclists around work areas.
  • Curbside bus stops and Viva rapidway stations will continue service during regular hours.
  • There will be construction-related noise and dust from equipment.
  • Work will be completed as quickly as possible to minimize any inconvenience.
  • This work is weather-dependent.
