Learn how vivaNext is planting seeds for future growth at the spring home shows!

spring-home-shows_2010_03_151Now that spring is in the air, it’s time to get out and explore a vast array of fresh ideas for your home and garden at the spring home shows. Hundreds of local businesses will be there to showcase the latest and greatest in interior and landscaping design.

As you walk around and take it all in, be sure to look for the vivaNext booth. We’ll be there chatting with local residents about how vivaNext rapid transit projects are planting seeds for future growth in York Region. The vivaNext team will also be handing out seeded bookmarks that can be planted in your garden. As well, you’ll have the opportunity to enter our draw for a deluxe gardening tool kit that will be given away at the close of each home show.

Everyone wins with vivaNext!

The last day to enter our exciting vivaNext ‘text to win’ contest was this past Friday, October 30, 2009. Over the course of the contest period, which began on October 9,  2009, we received 1,434 text entries – an incredible response.

In all, 22 daily prizes were randomly awarded including Tim Hortons and mall gift certificates, movie passes, and YRT\Viva monthly passes.

After the contest ended, our Grand Prize winner of the new iPod nano®* was randomly selected from all daily contest entries. We look forward to announcing their name just as soon as they have received their prize.

Meanwhile, we’d like to thank all participants who entered our ‘text to win’ contest and remind everyone that with great things like faster transit, better connections and attractive boulevards en route, everyone wins with vivaNext.

vivaNext segway team drives awareness at Vaughan Mills

Our vivaNext segway team was so successful at driving awareness for our projects at Markville Mall and the Markham Home Show earlier this month, we decided to put them to work once again at Vaughan Mills this past weekend.

This is the last week of our vivaNext ‘text to win’ contest, which began October 9, 2009 and ends this Friday, October 30, 2009. So far, 17 lucky people have won great daily prizes. Plus, along with all other contestants, they still have a chance to win the Grand Prize – the new iPod nano.*

Over the past two weekends, our vivaNext ‘segway’ team made appearances outside of Markville Mall and the Markham Home Show. Even in the pouring rain, they were a tremendous hit, attracting a lot of attention from Markham area residents. This, in turn, allowed us to drive awareness of vivaNext projects and communicate how to enter our new contest for a chance to win the new iPod nano®*. It’s so easy you could do it right now. All you have to do is text the word vivaNext to the number 101010.**

Now our vivaNext ‘segway’ team is preparing for their next appearance outside of Vaughan Mills this coming weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, they will be out in force to talk with Vaughan area residents about vivaNext projects in their area including the Spadina subway extension and the Highway 7 rapidway, which will both extend to the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre. As well, our vivaNext team will have a booth set up inside the mall from Friday through until Sunday, to ensure that we are able to talk to as many people as possible about our projects.

They’re back! Our vivaNext ‘segway’ team was such a big hit at Markville Mall last weekend, they’ll be making an appearance again this weekend at the Markham Home Show.

In addition to driving awareness of vivaNext projects, they’ll be getting the word out about our new contest where you could WIN the new iPod nano®* simply by texting the word Viva to the number 101010.**

Our vivaNext team will also have a booth inside the Show, where they’ll be showcasing time-lapse animations of vivaNext projects. It’s a great opportunity to see what York Region could look like in the future.

Team vivaNext members attracted a lot of attention riding around on segways outside Markville Mall this past Thanksgiving weekend. They were there to talk to people about vivaNext projects and show them how they could WIN the new iPod nano®* in our new contest by texting the word Viva to the number 101010.** We also had a booth inside the mall to make sure we were able to talk to as many people as possible. The sun may be in short supply this summer but the sunny smile of our Grand Prize winner, Larisa Roiberg, sure made up for it. The Friday before last, a beaming Larisa stopped by our vivaNext office to pick up her new iPod touch® after her name was randomly selected from all eligible entrants in our Next Best Thing To Summer Contest.

So how did her winning streak begin?

Larisa says she learned about our contest when she stopped by one of our booths at the mall to learn more about vivaNext projects. While there, the vivaNext team told her how much fun it was to complete our interactive story, so she decided to go online and give it a try when she got home. And wow, is she glad she did.

During the four weeks that our contest ran, about a thousand people submitted entries that showed us what their picture perfect summer looks like. Perhaps you were one of them, and maybe you were even one of the daily prize winners?

If not, don’t worry because you’ll soon have plenty of other chances to win during our upcoming fall and winter contests. The prizes will be just as exciting so be sure to watch for news about them here, on Twitter and at vivaNext.com.

Thanks for making our Next Best Thing To Summer Contest such a success.

In the past few weeks, about a thousand people visited vivaNext.com to enter our Next Best Thing To Summer Contest, which ended this past Friday, July 31, 2009. Entrants had a lot of fun using our interactive story to show us why summer’s the best and what their picture perfect summer looks like. On the other hand, we had a lot of fun telling them how vivaNext is the next best thing to summer because it will make it faster and easier for them to get to their favourite summer activities.

Each day during the contest period, one lucky entrant was randomly selected in our daily prize draw to win cool summer gear like water bottles, Canada’s Wonderland® passes, movie tickets, laptop bags and YRT\Viva two-zone passes. In all, 26 daily prizes were awarded.

Then this past Friday, the last day of our contest, we selected the final daily winner. We are now just getting ready to select the lucky winner of our Grand Prize – a handy iPod touch®. With this new iPod touch®, our Grand Prize winner will easily be able to get up-to-date vivaNext construction and project information wirelessly.
